Shawn + Regan

Adam Coker and I teamed up to film Shawn and Regan’s wedding video, and we had such a great time. The two of us drove out to Pullen Park in Raleigh to meet up with them a few weeks prior to the wedding in order to break the ice, get to know one another, and hear Shawn and Regan’s love story. Regan is this beautiful, bubbly, young spirit, and her laugh is absolutely contagious. Shawn is her shy, serious counterpart, and you can tell that Regan’s energy helps him open up and come out of his shell. A true tale of “opposites attract,” but they complimented each other so nicely. They were so happy to be together – you could hear it in their voices and see it on their faces as they shared stories and laughed together. Nothing could spoil this great time in their life – good thing too, because the weather on their wedding day would turn out to be anything but cooperative.

Regan and Shawn planned the perfect rustic wedding on Snipes Farm, but a typical summer storm decided to roll in just minutes before the outdoor ceremony was scheduled to take place. This storm was angry. Huge gusts of wind and a heavy downpour forced the guests to huddle together under the portico. The radar was not looking good either; at least another solid 30 minutes of rain. But the weather didn’t phase either of them. The two could be heard laughing amongst their groomsmen and bridesmaids as they made light of the dark skies. Ironically, the 40 minutes of nasty weather turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The rain had cleared, but the clouds provided some much needed shade and the temperature had dropped at least 5 degrees. Perfect. The rest of the night was flawless. Plenty of dancing and celebrating on both sides of the family, and a wonderfully memorable ending with love lanterns filling up the sky. I had such a great time covering Shawn and Regan, and I’m wishing them a lifetime of happiness in their journey together. Enjoy the video!
